Musical Director - Graham Jacklin

Graham (Jacko) Jacklin, has been Musical Director of the Leicestershire Coop Snibston Charnwood Brass since 2002.  In his first year with the band he took them to the National Finals in Torquay.  Subsequent promotion to the Third Section, another trip to the Finals in 2006 (where the band was awarded 4th place) and another promotion sees Graham leading the band to the top of the Midland's tables.

Graham is also a keen Cornet Player, an instaument he has been playing since the tender age of seven, originally with the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, under Ted Bradley.  Subsequent spells with Riddings, Carlton, Nottingham City Transport, Ransomes, Derwent Brass and Ratby (to name but a few), Graham has been priviliged to have worked with some great musicians.  These include David James, Brett Baker, Russell Gray Steve Sykes Melvin White and Roy Newsome, where Graham is always keen to pick up new tips and skills from the masters of their trade.

In 2007, Graham competed in the National Association of Brass Band Conductor's Competition, where he reached the final and experienced the helm of the renowned Vurtuosi GUS Band.

Graham is in regular demand locally, rehearsing and standing in at Concerts for other band's such as Oddfellows Brass, Wigston Band and Derwent Brass.

Although time does not allow for much serious Cornet playing, Graham is a keen Trumpet player and enjoys Swing and Jazz styles.  He is a member of his own family based group 'Nearly Jazz' as well as a member of Burton based 'Force Ten'

Graham is married to Sarah and has four children, who are also keen band members.  (Keep it in the family eh!).
